China has confirmed its first-ever human cases of bird flu. The disease has killed more than 60 people in Asia since 2003 but those cases were mainly in Vietnam and Thailand so the discovery of three human cases in China may be significant. China's Ministry of Health reported two cases in the central province of Hunan and one in eastern Anhui. Tests had been carried out on a nine-year-old boy from Hunan province after the possible detection of bird flu antibodies. more news... |
